Religious sanity (briefly) comes to Glasgow...

In a city where religious conflict between Catholics and Protestants is largely expressed at football/soccer matches in between Rangers and Celtic, and through their fans/subjects (both in terms of clubs and religion) both on and off the terraces - on the wrong Effin' Land mass... today saw a thirty year Ruling overtContinue

HTC Debuts it's "hero" and Flash browsing on Android Platform.

HTC, Up to now, have been the great adopters of Windows Mobile on its main devices, As I'm already well aware. I've heard word that it is Not likely at all that we'll see Winmo devices that will have solid capcitive touchscreens anytime soon. Balmer & co wishing to keep its graphically dated mobile platform for the spongy, resistive/non-responsive screens.

However there has been a lot of press around the gadget blogs that… Continue

The "Digital Britain" report

Tuesday saw the completed Digital Britain report, compiled by "lord" stephen carter, (quite possibly another rat leaving a sinking ship that is the UK government) released to the public (warning - PDF's). i know this is an american issue, but the europe often mimics america when our "american" (multinational) corporations lobby other countries to help them do the same things abroad they do at "home."

i hope you'll read the blog entry, but the short version is that cable companies are allowed to do nastier things to customers than the phone companies are allowed to do, based on american regulations that have existed for years. in other words, the phone lines lend themselves better to net neutrality than cable, thus people ought to stop using cable-based isp's.

the reason i post about it in the form of a comment is, i hope you will let me know if, while trolling around for new and interesting things to blog about, you find any information on how fiber optic lines fit into this. you are the closest thing mix has to an expert on isp's and their technology, whether that's mostly european isp's or not- so it's you i address.

be happy you're not @lanceulanoff ... i really think you have a future in tech blogging if he's being published at pcmagazine.

zdnet is a sad, sad place these days. some of these so called techs are the worst kind of ignorant shills. i've decided ulanoff is the worst anywhere... blogging from a cave in washington state, i'd think.
