Well, yesterday I got kind of screwed. I was supposed to have lunch with my boss and a client, and since the lunch was at noon, I skipped breakfast to save room for the gut-busting meals these things always are. And then I got to work and discovered that the client had canceled. So... not only had I gotten all decked out in "client-appropriate" duds, I had to run to the nearest grocery store and pick up not only breakfast, but lunch as well. Plastic, plastic, plastic. Not a lot, but enough. Plas… Continue

In a blink of an eye, 25 years of my life has passed. And what actually made me realize this is the fact lots of things have changed. Yes, we live in progressive society and we always tend to change things, but when you see people have changed, that’s when you really open your eyes.
A girl from high school called Miljana N. was such a good friend to me. We were soul mates, sitting next to each other, and over the 4 years of school we never ran out of subject while we were talking and laughing (… Continue

Day 4 was spent in Sacramento, the bf and I staying at his parents'. Since we were in a house, we had the benefit of ceramic dishes and coffee cups, glasses and metal utensils. The downside is, this is someone else's house and I can't tell them how to do their grocery shopping. So I did my best to recycle what plastic containers I could while I helped make dinner (and did dishes when dinner was over;) ).
Day 5 is ongoing, but I'm back in trouble. We flew back to LA early this morning. Breakfast… Continue

Freedom to me is having no censorship on anything I do. Seriously I have lots and lots of opinions on things but I feel like I can't give the full out answer because it is not a "proper" thing to say or do at the moment. In my opinion freedom only exists to a certain extent.

On Day 3 I had to take a flight to Sacramento and naturally, this presents a set of plastic problems. Everything at the gates area is sold in plastic bottles or cups, the refreshments provided on the flight come in plastic cups. You can't bring liquids through security, so providing your own drinks is out...or is it? Following Zadi's lead, I brought a nalgene water bottle(empty, of course) with me to the airport. Once I got through security and to the gate area, I went in search of a beverage. I… Continue

I got out on Monday and right now I'm in San Benito, Texas visiting a friend I haven't seen in a long time. Getting myspace friends is easy it seems, I'm doing one a day which is great and at least 5 people are viewing and listening to my music which is awesome in my books. Facebook on the other hand. One would think that with a service with that many uses the fan pages would get some more attention. Turns out not. I think I get about as much attention on myspace in a day as I do with Facebook in a month.
Though I gota say this is kinda annoying. It feels like the entire music industry has come crash… Continue

Well, I think I did MUCH better today.
I picked up bagels for my office this morning and while the bagels came in a paper bag, the cream cheese came in plastic tubs. Boo. But I turned down the plastic freezer bags they tried to give me. Not that I needed them, 2 dozen bagels in my office disappear in roughly 3.7 seconds. :D
I did forget to put out metal knives for spreading cream cheese, so I'm taking responsibility for the one plastic knife that ended up being used.
Lunch was pizza, so paper… Continue

(Yes, I'm playing with the language features. Please learn to cope.)
Something most people who know me don't know about me is that I'm a pretty big fan of Korean cinema. Chan-Wook Park'sOldboy introduced me to a style and culture of Film that was quite unlike what I'd grown used to - and I liked it. I started to explore the scene a bit and found, for such a small country, there's quite a vibran… Continue

I was thinking about online data earlier today (and yesterday) and I had this thought to try and spruce up online magazine articles, you know, make them nicer or more interactive for users to get more of an online experience through them when this idea hit me.
What if we took a classic book, like say Dracula (I use this because of the data available) and put it online. Most of you would say "Matt, that's already been done before. To death actually." To which I would say "Aha! But there's more!"… Continue
After realizing I was going to have to not consider all of the everyday items I use daily that use plastic (sunglasses, car, computer, desk chair, etc.), I started concentrating on the consumables/reuseables/throw-away-ables. I did really well until lunch, which came in a plastic container inside a plastic bag and was non-recyclable. In all fairness, I didn't buy that today, it was part of my lunch stash in my office refrigerator.
I also forgot at one point when someone at work handed me a piec… Continue

So, the past four weeks have been a blast in all honesty. The Reelworks teen filmmaking program I’ve participated in this summer has been a worthwhile experience. I really enjoyed the tie in it had with Urban Word, a teen spoken word organization. I must say, I’ve gained a whole new respect and like for the art of poetry and the spoken word. Yes, it’s all art. I’m grateful of being able to expand my talents productively as well as enjoy doing it very much in this setting. It is certainly a confi… Continue

First the open source software , but now there is a licence that let's you share music freely, and it is the "Music Sharing License of Creative Commons ", yes, it's almost the same as the open source software, but with music, I personally think this is just interesting, basically there are 3 steps:
1) put the logo in your page, so fans can know their music can be shared.
2) promote it
3) make it searchable
you can find more details here: http://creativecommons.org/license/music
