MIX

Yup Christmas Eve was the day that I was born 28 years ago. and over all that time, especially since my school days, It has not been good on the morale front for me.

Not since my I left school (back in the late 90's) did I have any celebration for it outside of my Immediate family, This is because Everyone since has either been too busy or skint on or around this period in time to do anything with me.

However things changed I think for the better since I go this oilfield engineering Job a couple of years ago.

now My lot don't allow us to Book any holidays around the festive period, instead they ask us what we'd like to have off, (either Christmas or new year). So it was at that point I decided "Feck it". Get me working over my chrimbo and birthday, and have me back for the change of the year. That way I'll get the pennies in whilst everyone mires in prezzy buying debt :P This works out especially well for my work since just about everyone Wants Christmas off.

And for the last 2 years this has been the case. Leaving me free on new years to go to the Celebrations on Princes Street, Edinburgh in a Kilt and Shove my toungue down the throat of as many random & friendly antipodean women as possible! :D

So I made it perfectly clear to my work Never the have me home for my Christmas/birthday For the duration of my field career, because I always like to be around for new years instead. This year was different. I had had a quiet summer and Was sent to do a loan stint for a month in Thailand.

The Thai/Malaysian operations were happy with what I did and were happy to have me back for another stint. This time over Christmas & new year. I thought again, because of the quiet summer. I'll sacrifice both this time. And If it was anything Like last time I'll get to spend a chunk of it onshore too, Now, I did inform my immediate superiors here in the UK that I'd be ok with this, both in person and electronically before I departed for the next one, Now my stint offshore lasted exactly 2 weeks from the point I arrived on the 7th of December all the way to Monday the 22nd, GIven how things went before on the stint from late october to late november, I got to spend a large chunk of it onshore as well, and It was shaping up to be the case again over christmas and new years. However My UK lot did a double-take and insisted I come back after getting off the rig, this is to serve another stint Offshore in the UK north sea from NEW YEAR's EVE ONWARDS!! @>:-(

So now I find myself back in Scotland in the town I hate living in during a time I hate being at home, again without anyone that has enough finance to come out and celebrate another year I've survived on this Spherical water-covered space rock.

so I'll definitely be one of the "bah humbug" brigade over this period. :P

I have been checking EpicFu every now and then. The last "video" item I see happened on 6/21/2009. I feel like I am lost, missing something (like a new website), or pushed out of the loop. Please help.
