A Little Bit About Me:: Ich wurde am 22.5.1959 in Idstedt geboren. Meinen Namen erhielt ich erst im Alter von zwei Jahren, da meine Eltern sich nicht einigen konnten: Meine Mutter plädierte für Jens, sein Vater präferierte den Namen Uwe. 1961 entschied man sich schließlich für einen Doppelnamen.
Bereits in der Schule engagierte ich mich in der Theatergruppe und im Kinderchor. Mein musikalisches Talent sollte ich einige Jahre später noch einmal unter Beweis stellen: Als Schlager-Sänger machte ich mich in den 80er Jahren vor allem in der Damenwelt einen Namen. Wer kennt ihn nicht, meinen großen Hit: Wenn Rote Rosen Rosten!
